For the holidays, one of my co-workers went home to Jordan. As soon as he arrived, he placed this transparent tray on top of my desk and told me to tell everyone to get one when they pass me by.
I asked him what it was and he said that even he didn't know. So naturally, I got one so I could check out what the pasalubong is.
It's a cookie! A fat, fat cookie in which I don't know what the filling is.
The second I took a bite, I was in heaven. The exterior was sorta between uraro/puto seko and a muffin while the filling is a mix of custard and pistachio. Yum-oh!
I didn't have breakfast that morning and, being in that sorry state, I grabbed a few (okay, a quarter of it) to keep me going for the first half of the grueling day.
Can someone identify this pastry for me? I really, really do like it. I think I've had this when I was a kid here in the kingdom.
