    Braving Winter with Fingerless Gloves

When I started working again as an expatriate this year, I braved the winter season without sporting any gloves or mittens to protect my hands. Pretty brave, huh? You'll even be surprised that I didn't even have a scarf and ear muffs to protect my neck and ears against the harsh, cold weather. I just donned a jacket (knitted or leather) and I think I'm all set. Although I always get this throbbing headache whenever I subject myself to the dropping temperatures outside. The coldness took a toll on me then, I guess. I won't let it happen again this time.

Now that the days are getting colder and colder than the previous (with the temperature dropping by three degrees each and every day), I decided to buy a set of black knitted gloves from Topshop. I didn't want the one from Marks & Spencer's because it was tacky looking. Besides, I don't want to get caught wearing the same gloves as my brother's! Ayokong matawag ulit kaming kambal.

My most pressing problem, however, is how I could operate my phones without removing my gloves. Have you tried using your phone while wearing gloves or mittens? Yeah, I know. It sucks big time. I can do this tutorial with the gloves I have right now but it'll be troublesome to find the required materials and I'm the weather makes me too lazy to execute it. Instead, I went to the mall during the Eid holidays to buy me some fingerless gloves.

I spotted these cashmere fingerless gloves over at Koton (a Turkish brand, btw), and I instantly fell in love with it. It's cheap for SAR 35 (roughly Php 440) and, because of its neutral color (it's like a darker ash), I can easily incorporate them into my current office wardrobe.

It's really perfect for operating my phones in the cold — it gives me that warmth I need in my hands without sacrificing practicality and style.

    The September Issue

What font should you use for the documentary about a fashion magazine? Of course, a stylish and chic one!

At first look I thought it was Jubilat, but I can feel it on my bones that it's definitely the elegance exuded by H&FJ's Archer.

I love, love, love the font! Oh, did I mention I love it? I am so saving up for this one. It's kinda above my purchasing level right now.

I liked The September Issue for showing how Vogue, the magazine, does its much glorified issue. I have to admit that I didn't like the idea of watching it at first because the media was ogling at Anna Wintour, EIC and so-called "face" of the magazine.

After finishing it though, I absolutely fell in like with Grace Coddington, the magazine's creative director. It's such a darling to see how she works. I find her to be an epitome of grace under pressure, much like an unsung hero too if you look at her work.

    Lusting Over A $1995 Bag

My mom and I are the bag hags in our family. Shopping for bags is an addiction we both share, much like a bonding-slash-exercise activity for us inside malls.

There are instances we bought bags behind each other's backs and went ga-ga over the incidents. We interrogate one another of the purchase and never fails to mention the date we have bought the latest bag in our collection.Well, mostly my mom interrogates me with my new bag, making me worried sick to the point that I experience buyer's remorse. But, whenever I return the favor, she always puts on the puppy dog eyes and narrates the perpetual story that she never buys anything lucrative for herself except for bags. I'd like to put on a brave face in order to smack her with a rebuttal but then it's too late for me for smoke gets in her eyes. Damn! My mom's good, no? LOL

I have never lusted over a bag before (swear!) but this Proenza Schouler bag was absobloodylutely an exception.

I love the color (but I'm also lusting the black one), plus it's semi-utilitarian-but-still-stylish in the looks department. I also like the fact that even if it's a bitch bag, it still looks sexy enough for a guy.

The bag retails at around $1,995 at Barneys. A little pricey for me that's why it's my goal from hereon to find a good alternative before I'm tired of stopping myself to go broke for this bag.

    Fashion Pronunciation 101

The Imperial Hotel Management College in Vancouver, Canada made a collection of the correct pronunciations of some of the most well-known fashion brands and designers.

The masa (masses) IMO should thank IHMC for giving them a step closer to luxury.

    Veins Are The New Fishnets

Veines Et Artères, a pantyhose created by Les Queues de Sarines.

Cute, no? And so kinky if you're in the medical field.
